CHESIL BEACH (FERRYBRIDGE) SLOPE SITE
Chesil Beach is flyable from a few directions as it curves round between Portland and Abbotsbury at FERRYBRIDGE.
Foamies are best but I have heard of polyhedral type floaters being used here in light offshore winds of an evening and the flyer walking along the beach. However, due to the nature of the beach, any lost glider ditched in the sea would be irretrievable due large breaking waves on a steep shingle beach and a vary dangerous under current.
Many visitors in the area. Available all the year round with visitor centre and parking next to Ferrybridge at the Fleet. Cafe/Toilets available here.
